Contraception & Family Planning

Doctors and Practice Nurses provide a comprehensive family planning service.

We have Doctors trained in the fitting and removal of contraceptive coils and implants. For more information on this, please contact Emily (LARC Co-ordinator) at the surgery.

There are always same day appointments available for emergency contraception.

SAFE

is a website for young people living in Bath and North East Somerset. On this website you can find information and advice on: free condoms (C-card); contraception; emergency contraception; sexually transmitted infections (STIs); pregnancy; sexual & gender identity; relationships and sexual abuse.

You can also find all the sexual health and relationship services that you can access across Bath and North East Somerset and those closest to you.

SAFE stands for Sexual health Advice For Everyone, and is a quality standard offered to all organisations who provide sexual health advice and information to young people aged 13 to 24. Any service showing the SAFE logo shows that services are young person friendly.

If you take an oral contraceptive you will have an annual review with a nurse.

The leading provider of sexual and reproductive health services in the UK and has been commissioned to provide free of  charge abortion services. Patients can self-refer to their services without the need for a GP appointment. Their confidential telephone line – One Call 0345 450 3964 – is fully operational, day or night, 7 days a week. Patients can call this number to talk through their options, book treatment or receive specialist clinical advise from our nursing team and counsellors.

British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) is the UK’s leading abortion care service, Patients can self-refer by visiting the website http://www.bpas.org/

Patients do not require a referral from their GP.
