Carers

There is lots of support and advice available for carers.

If you are looking after or providing care for a relative, child or friend, then you can find more information about what you can do as a carer below.

Does your GP know you’re a carer?

If you look after a friend or family member who is ill, disabled, has a mental health problem or is struggling with an addiction and cannot manage without you, you are a carer.

Being a carer there may be times when you need help too, and your GP can support you if they know you are caring for somebody.

Your Health

If you feel that your health is suffering due to looking after someone, please make an appointment to see a clinician. Your surgery can help you to look after your own health needs with knowledge of your caring role.
